New Registrants
A New Registrant is defined as a graduate from a PANB approved paramedic educational program who has never been registered in any jurisdiction. These registrants are recent graduates from PANB approved educational programs and who have not yet entered the paramedic system anywhere else in Canada or Internationally.
The Entry to Practice process utilizes an entry to practice examination that is matched against the most current approved competency framework approved by the Board of Directors of the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick (currently the National Occupational Competency Profile). This examination is developed, designed, delivered, and monitored by the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick to ensure that is responsive, nimble, and reflective to the needs of the province, while also exceeding the requirements of any other provincial, regional, or national entry to practice examination.
The deliver of the examination is matched, as closely as possible, to the educational programs and employers to ensure that there is little, if any delay between graduation and being authorized to practice. This ensures the new graduates are work ready as soon as possible to ensure there are no opportunities missed to retain these skilled practitioners.
