Notice of Discipline Committee Decision
The Discipline Committee of the Paramedic Association of New Brunswick, by a decision dated December 4, 2023, found that a Member’s conduct constituted professional misconduct when the Member changed a functioning airway device just for another paramedic to practice a skill and not because it would improve the patient’s outcome, and allowed a primary care paramedic to attempt a skill outside their scope of practice.
The Committee ordered that the Member:
be reprimanded for one (1) year;
pay costs in the amount of $1,000; and
pay a fine in the amount of $1,000.
